Taper your upper body and add volume to your lower body
Clothing should be worn that will de-emphasise the abdomen and torso, trim the waist and highlight your best assets such as the bust and legs.
Tops
Select tops that will taper your upper body while creating a more defined waist such as:
> Nipped or belted waists.
> Square, scoop or wide V-necks.
> Wrap style tops and jackets.
> Vertical details.
> Flare at the hips.
Bottoms
To add volume to the lower half, utilise styles such as:
> Mid-rise waists with wide waist bands.
> Details such as whiskering, embellished and flap pockets.
> Full, tiered or bubble skirts.
> Pants with full or wide legs.
> Cargo pants with pronounced hip and rear pockets.
Dresses
Select styles which draw attention eye up away from the middle section and with a looser fit such as:
> Empire waist.
> Shift.
> Neck details.
As an oval body shape, what type of dresses do you find look best on you?
