Add dimensions to your body frame and create a defined waist
You should aim to 'break up' your silhouette by adding curves from the waist up as well as the waist down while also creating a defined waist.
Tops
Look for tops that will add curves to your upper body and give you the appearance of having a defined waist. Some examples are:
> Tops with nipped or belted waists.
> Billowy tops with a snug waist.
> Off the shoulder tops with wide V-necks, scoop necks or boat necks.
> Structured shoulders, princess or flutter sleeves.
> Embellishments around the bust and shoulders.
Bottoms
Select bottoms that will add curves to your lower half such as:
> Mid to low-rise waists with wide waist bands.
> Details such as whiskering, embellished and flap pockets.
> Full, tiered or bubble skirts.
> Pants will full or moderately flared legs.
> Cargo pants with pronounced hip and rear pockets.
Dresses
Choose dresses with features such as:
> Simple straight lines.
> Empire line.
> Shift dresses.
> Kaftans with splits at the waist.
As a rectangle body shape, how do you add curves to your upper and lower body?
Awesome breakdown!
